Position Summary:
This is a full-time (academic year appointment) clinical faculty position for the College of Laws Boise location, at the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor. The faculty member in this position will be an integral part of the legal writing faculty team. This faculty member will be responsible for teaching up to two sections each semester of the Colleges first-year legal writing course and will work collaboratively with the other legal writing faculty members to develop the course curriculum and major writing assignments. After the first year, the faculty member will also teach an additional course, dependent on areas of interest and the Colleges curricular needs. The faculty member will also conduct outreach, attend faculty meetings, and serve on committees at the University and/or College level.
Minimum Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited school or the equivalent.
- At least three years of post-J.D. practice, clerking, or teaching experience.
- Experienced in legal research and writing skills.
- Experience teaching, or related experience.
- Experience creating a safe, welcoming, and dynamic learning environment of belonging for all students, or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of the bar exam in at least one U.S. state.
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
